Tamil Nadu (Tamil: தமிழ் நாடு,) is one of the 28 states of India. Its capital and largest city is Chennai.The Tamil Nadu government's logo (Temple with globe and Thirukkural book) was visualized by S.S. Vasan, the then Propreitor of Gemini Studios and Anandha Vikatan. It was actually visualized to represent Tamil Nadu as an icon for the first international tamil conference (Ulagath Tamizh Mahanadu) in the late 1960's. S.S. Vasan is well known for his 1948 Tamil classic - Chandralekha.
